Ginger Design Celebrates 5 Years by Giving Back to Community

Two local organizations are teaming up to foster success in the community. Fredericton marketing agency, Ginger, recently announced that they are committing to donate 5% of their proceeds to the Fredericton Community Foundation each year for the next 5 years. The funds will be used towards the creation of a “Ginger Fund” within the Foundation’s Community Fund.

“What I absolutely love about this is the example Ginger is setting. This is more than a donation, it is a commitment to our community and it is really entrenching the philosophy of giving back into the core of their business,” said Tim Fox, Executive Director of the Fredericton Community Foundation.

Supporting the community has been a core principle at Ginger since day one and the partnership with the Fredericton Community Foundation is their way of holding themselves accountable. Commitment to the community and the success of their “Work Hard and Be Nice” philosophy acts as encouragement for other small businesses to join in and make a similar commitment.

“Fredericton is an amazing city to live and do business in. When I look around, I see a city full of good people doing good things. A happy, healthy community requires a balance of community spirit, leadership and business. This has been part of our dream for a long time now and we are so very happy to be making it a reality. I personally encourage other business owners to make a similar commitment. It builds strong communities, strong businesses and strong teams. It’s simple, ‘Work Hard and Be Nice,’” said Andrew Bedford, Managing Partner and Founder of Ginger.

To mark the occasion of their fifth anniversary and their newly announced partnership with the Fredericton Community Foundation, Ginger has teamed up with Picaroons Traditional Ales to craft a Ginger Ale to celebrate community. For each growler of the appropriately named Ginger Ale #communitybrew sold, Picaroons & Ginger will each donate $1 to the Fredericton Community Foundation. Picaroons is well known for pioneering their community minded business model and have served as inspiration to the development of Ginger’s business model.

“We’re very happy to have been invited to be part of this great community initiative. It certainly helps us fulfill the mission of Picaroons, to make the world a better place, one beer at a time,” said Sean Dunbar of Picaroons.

Since 1956 the Fredericton Community Foundation has been funding good works that enhance and strengthen the quality of life of all citizens in the Greater Fredericton Region. The Fredericton Community Foundation is the bridge that links caring donors to the needs and interests of our community. The foundation engages in community leadership, and the development and stewardship of new funds. Each year the organization supports close to 100 organizations in Greater Fredericton, focusing on areas such as arts and culture, health, environment, education, youth, heritage, social development, recreation and sport.
