The City of Fredericton has announced that it is now accepting applications from community groups and agencies interested in participating in the Transit Fare Program for 2015. The program is designed to help members of participating groups access to the transit system for medical appointments, access education and training, to seek employment or to visit service providers.
According to the City of Fredericton, in 2014 the program provided 360 dial-a-bus tickets and 5,585 single-ride Fredericton Transit tickets to the 39 participating community agencies. The program will run throughout the year so community organizations can continue to support their clients.
Applications for the program can be obtained at www.fredericton.ca under “Transit Fare Assistance Program” or at the Recreation and Social Facilitation offices at 618 Queen Street. In order to qualify, all applications must be completed by January 27, 2015.
