A new permanent location has been secured for the Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre.
“Ensuring we have the right location to improve access to primary health care and the use of health-care professionals is important,” said Health Minister Victor Boudreau. “The new location will allow the interdisciplinary team of health-care providers to provide community-based primary care to patients in downtown Fredericton and the surrounding area.”
The provincial government recently acquired a property at 339 King Street to relocate the centre from its current temporary facility in the Centennial Building.
“This new permanent location demonstrates our full commitment to continue to invest in prevention and health to ensure our priority populations continue to receive the care they need,” said John McGarry, president and CEO of Horizon Health Network.
The provincial government will invest a total of $4.8 million towards this project. The clinic should be operational in December.
