Tom Allen’s The Judgement of Paris at The Playhouse

judgementparisThe Fredericton Playhouse presents Tom Allen’s The Judgement of Paris on Thursday, November 19th at 7:30 pm.

Written by radio host, symphony orchestra consultant, author and musician Tom Allen, The Judgment of Paris combines cabaret, history and storytelling with timeless music by Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, as well as original songs by the performers.

Set during the rise of the First World War, you’re invited to follow along as musical revolutionary Debussy and his one-time follower Ravel compete for the love of their proud, fickle, darling Paris. The Judgment of Paris is new and old, heroic and tragic, historical and fictional.

In addition to Tom Allen as the narrator, the cast features a number of performers familiar to Fredericton audiences, including Kevin Fox (voice, cello, guitar); Lori Gemmell (harp, trumpet, piano voice); Bryce Kulak (piano, voice, accordion); and Patricia O’Callaghan (voice, piano, percussion).

Ticket prices are: Regular $32 / Members $29 / Under 19 $16 (+hst). Tickets are available through the Fredericton Playhouse box office by calling 458-8344 or online at www.theplayhouse.ca.
